Being at The Hudson since the very first event in 2017 has created a wonderful opportunity for me to connect with so many clients and vendors, and encourage their event day visions to succeed. I’m all about the success of our clients as they enjoy the fruits of their event planning labor.

Being a strong believer in happily-ever-after, I take great joy in learning people’s love stories and backgrounds during their tours and contract signings. I’ve been in the service industry for 14 years and the event industry since I graduated from Wichita State University in 2015, both in Kansas City and Wichita. This background has helped me master the skill of multitasking and time management with customer service being my top priority, which has greatly helped me at The Hudson, since March 2021.

If I’m not at The Hudson, you can find me at brunch on a patio or traveling – most likely near the ocean or off hiking somewhere.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the capacity?

The building capacity is 469 throughout all the various rooms, not including the Urban Garden. The seated capacity in our largest indoor event space is 300-350. In our smaller indoor event space, the seated capacity is 50-60. In our outdoor garden, the seated capacity is 250.

How many hours come in each package?

Our Friday, Saturday, and Sunday packages come with 10 hours. If your event is a wedding and you also book the ceremony package, that makes your total hours 12.

Weekday events are purchased by the hour, with a 4 hour minimum.

What time can my event start and end?

Weddings can start their timeline as early as 10:00 am and have the clean up hour as late as midnight – 1:00 am.

Business events are determined by the specific event need. Please inquire for optional hours.

Can I have my ceremony and reception at The Hudson?

Yes! We have several ceremony options for your convenience. We can completely flip the room from your ceremony to your reception while your guests enjoy a cocktail hour.

You can have your reception partially set up to have a quicker room flip.

If your guest count is around 130, you can have the room set up with your ceremony and reception and not have a room flip.

You can have your ceremony in our outdoor Urban Garden, and have your reception set up inside or vice versa.

You can have an Oscar style ceremony, where your guests are seated at the reception tables for the ceremony, therefore not having a room flip.

Do you have audio/visual?

We have building-wide sound, 3 microphones for inside and 2 microphones for the Urban Garden. We also have a projector screen for slideshows and presentations, as well as a smart TV in our smaller event space.

Ava and Jesse were absolutely incredible and you can tell, they really are passionate about what they do and working with them was a breeze. This place has an amazing vibe! It's classy, but not too stuffy - reminiscent of The Great Gatsby and that era. The bar area and the other rooms have lots of fun small details. It feels like a venue you would find in Chicago or Nashville. I'd definitely choose this over Abode or other venues I've been to locally. The private parking for the event was an added bonus!

Love this place. Love Jessie and Ava. So many great points to share, we don’t know where to start. They made us feel so welcome and allowed our planning team (AKA My mom, her best friend, and the day-of coordinator) to ask a million questions without ever seeming impatient. It has exactly the look we wanted. I personally was worried the brick and concrete would mess with the acoustics like I’ve seen at other similar venues but everyone heard the toasts and music just fine! Plus my husband loved that we could play some football for our guests while we were off taking pictures during cocktail hour. This place is a dream, it’s no wonder we picked it immediately after our first tour! We made the right choice!
